A spa in Dumfries had been judged the best in Scotland, weeks after the hotel it’s in got another top award.
The Cairndale Hotel has been given the ‘five star bubble luxury’ award by the Good Spa Guide, the highest accolade in the UK industry.
It’s the only spa in Scotland to hold that distinction, and one of just 25 across the UK.
It comes after the hotel was named Best Independent Hotel in the Scottish Excellence Awards, succeeding last year’s winner Cromlix House at Dunblane, owned by tennis star Andy Murray, his wife Kim and family.
The ‘Spa spy’ judge from The Good Spa Guide said: “We awarded the Cairndale Spa our highest rating for its beautiful design and attention to detail, great choice of thermals, super friendly staff and inventive, thoughtful treatments.
“It has raised the bar for Scottish spas.”
Matthew Wallace Junior, Director of The Cairndale Hotel and Spa said: “To receive this recognition so soon after opening is truly humbling.
“It’s a testament to the vision, passion and dedication of our entire team who have created something truly special for both locals and visitors. We’re proud to have put Dumfries and Galloway on the map as a luxury Spa destination.
“We are deeply grateful to SoSE for believing in this project and supporting our ambition to bring something truly world-class to the South of Scotland.”
